Premier legal representation for parking and moving violations
Speed limits protect people from losing control of their vehicles. Lawmakers consider the environment, traffic density and road design when determining a safe speed.
People who ignore these signs and drive at reckless speeds pose a dangerous risk to themselves and other drivers. Understanding the impact of speeding on a person’s privilege to drive may give people the incentive to comply with the law.
A single speeding ticket might not impact a person’s license eligibility much. However, according to the New York Department of Motor Vehicles, people who accumulate three or more speeding tickets in an 18-month period will have their license suspended immediately.
Speeding tickets can also interfere with a person’s employment if the employer requires their workers to drive or operate fleet vehicles. Maintaining a clean driving record is a requirement that most employers have for the drivers they hire.
People who have lost their license and want it reinstated will need to request restoration through a series of steps. The New York Department of Motor Vehicles will require you to pay all fines and satisfy all outstanding tickets prior to honoring your request for restoration.
You can request a restoration of your license online or by mail. You will need to have your driver’s license number and your social security identification to complete the information required to make a request.
Speeding tickets are not the end of the world, but can have costly repercussions if people accumulate too many in a given time.
